Dr. Sketchy's - both the girls were dressed up in tribal "savage" outfits, with a lot of feathers, body paint and furs while holding spears.

Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School

I finally got out to Dr. Sketchy's, a life drawing event that uses assorted burlesque performers. (Part of the website might be NSFW). This one's theme was Alice in Wonderland and featured the sassy 4'2" multimedia artist Trina Rose. (Small-ish pics posted, click for bigger versions) I haven't done life drawings since 2001, so I was a little rusty but got better as the poses got longer.

Scarecrow

One of my coworkers and I were discussing how it would be great if we had a scarecrow to stand in for producers when they're in meetings or whatever.


He's always making sure you're on schedule!!

Note: actual producer's eyes aren't large and angry. I just figured the scarecrow would need an edge considering he's made of straw.

Tree in Brushes App

One of the few problems I have with the Brushes app is that occasionally while trying to zoom in I'll draw a line across something and not notice. This is a good example of that, since there are two random green lines across the tree that I didn't notice until I opened the picture in Photoshop to resize it.

I got a tokidoki Rondine shirt for supercheap when Virgin went out of business, so I drew one. And my drew one I mean just kinda copied the original so that I could color it like a coloring book.

There's a homebrew application for the DS called Colors that makes your DS into a sketchpad. It mimics pressure sensitivity, etc. I wish it had layers or an undo button. The only thing I like better about it than Brushes for the iPhone is the fact that I can use a stylus instead of my finger.

Everyone quickly became used to the halo, but the fact that he could hold a scepter without fingers eventually became the basis for frightening legends about gypsy curses.

Brushes App

I put the "Brushes" app on my iPhone today. It's really hard to get used to, but I like it so far. Here's my first little sketch with it.

Probably more windy than breezy, but it's hard to think of a nice breeze when there is 6-10" of snow on the ground. :)

I like to think about superheroes/villains when they're relaxing at home. I have a theory that Catwoman always has band-aids all over her feet because of the high heels she wears.

Getting back into drawing at least on thing a day is easier than I thought, but translating it to the internet is proving more difficult than it really should be. ;)
